Erich Buhr studied a B.Compt degree part time at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg whilst serving his articles with Coopers & Lybrand there.  After qualifying as a CA (SA) in 1966, he moved to Price Waterhouse and then relocated to join S.O. Basson & Co and in 1968 became a Partner.

As one of the original founders of Buhr, Parry & Co, Erich served the company with distinction for over 40 years.  During this period his devotion to a wide range of community, church affairs and sport manifested itself.

After a lifetime in Round Table and Rotary, he became a Paul Harris Fellow and was awarded The Sapphire Pin for services in Rotary.

Erich retired as a Partner on 1 March 2010 but still assists when the need arises and is available as a Consultant to clients upon request.
